Set a Preferred Payment Method

You can set a preferred payment method from the Saved Payments tab of a customer profile, so that the preferred payment method is selected by default when placing an order.

No payment methods are marked as preferred by default, unless a preferred or default method is always set by the payment provider.
When a preferred payment method is deleted, the preferred flag is removed as well.

Setting a preferred payment method:

Before you can set a preferred payment method, the payment method must already be stored in the Saved Payments tab.

1. Double-click a customer record then click the Saved Payments tab.
2. Locate and select the payment method that you want to set as the preferred method.
3. Click Edit.
4. Click Expand before the scope display name to see the payment provider details.
5. Click the Preferred radio button next to the payment method that you want to set as the preferred method.

You can have one preferred payment method per payment provider.

6. Click Save.
